La Mothaye knows a long history, from monastery to castle for the French aristocracy. Nowadays it is a unique place for our guests to enjoy a royal stay in one of our comfortable rooms.

The classic dining room with lots of origional details is available to rent for special occasions (wedding - celebrations).

The parc and fields

Set in 36 ha (90 acres) of parkland, field and forest, La Mothaye guards the intimacy of its guests.

Feel free to stroll around the forest, pick some blackberries or walnuts, or go for a walk to the church of Brion.

While walking around, you might see pheasants, squirrels or the roe deer that live at La Mothaye. The best time to spot roe deer, however, is in the early morning.

Swimming pool

The swimming pool (12x6m) is situated next to the chateau and it overlooks the chapel and the surrounding park.

Go for a swim in the pool or just relax after an active day in the Loire region.

The chapel

An absolute eye catcher at our property is the almost 300-year-old chapel, which is a 100 years older than the chateau and a reminder of the original monastery which was destroyed during the French revolution.

This is the perfect and ideal place to enjoy peace and quiet.
